Her Journey at Bonham & Brook

Shannon joined Bonham & Brook to focus on energy tax consultancy, a niche area at the intersection of industry, policy, and commercial strategy. From the start, her role was client-facing and commercially driven, requiring both technical expertise and relationship-building with manufacturing businesses.

She quickly discovered the entrepreneurial spirit of the firm, “If you see an opportunity and can prove it works, you’re given the space to build something around it.” Over time, Shannon’s role expanded from serving individual clients to shaping the entire energy product and strategy. She trained sales teams, designed campaigns, built partnerships, and worked closely with leadership. A proud milestone was helping grow the energy offering into a major revenue stream for the firm.

Beyond technical knowledge, Shannon gained unexpected skills in leadership and strategy, learning to influence across teams, build commercial structures, and inspire others with a vision.

Challenges, Achievements, and Culture

Introducing new ideas in established areas was one of Shannon’s biggest challenges, “When you’re pushing for change you sometimes have to prove it first before others buy into it”, noting that staying focused on delivering results consistently, inspires people to follow in your footsteps.

Her proudest achievements are the tangible impacts, helping manufacturing businesses unlock significant savings that fuel reinvestment and sustainability.

She describes Bonham & Brook’s culture as performance-driven yet supportive, “People are trusted to run with ideas and take responsibility for outcomes.” Senior leadership’s confidence in her judgement was pivotal, while collaboration with consultancy and sales teams shaped her approach to commercial strategy and delivery.

Her work has contributed to making energy a cornerstone of the firm’s growth, supporting energy-intensive businesses, helping them stay competitive, and strengthening the wider economy.

Looking Ahead and Personal Reflections

Shannon is excited about expanding the energy offering into something much bigger. Energy policy, industry and sustainability are evolving quickly, and there’s huge demand for expertise in this space.

Equally, she looks forward to developing the next generation of team members who will carry the vision forward.

On a personal level, Shannon has grown into a confident leader, “Early in my career I focused mainly on delivering good work. Now I think much more about the bigger picture, how to build something sustainable, how to develop people around me, and how to create long-term impact rather than just short-term wins.”

Her advice to new joiners: “Take the time to really understand the schemes and the industries we work with… And don’t be afraid to ask questions or challenge assumptions.”

In other words, knowledge is power, investing in being an expert in your field will propel you forward.

At Bonham & Brook, our people are what set us apart, and Kieran's story is a great example of why. Five years and five promotions in, Kieran has built a career at B&B defined by results, growth, and a genuine belief that what we do matters.

His journey at Bonham & Brook

Kieran studied Business and Financial Management at Sheffield, where a placement year at Enterprise Rent-A-Car gave him his first real grounding in sales. When it came to choosing where to build his career, he passed over safer, more established offers in favour of Bonham & Brook's Manchester office, then still new. "I saw more room to grow here than I would somewhere already set in its ways," Kieran says of that decision.

That bet has paid off. Over five years, Kieran has earned five promotions, along with SDR of the Year and BD of the Year honours. He credits the team culture as a big part of that, one that's stayed friendly even as it's become more goal driven and structured since Matthew Davidson joined as manager. Leadership support has been a constant throughout too, including guidance from B&B Managing Director Raed, that's gone beyond work itself to focus on him as a person. "It was never just about hitting targets. People here genuinely invested in me, not just my output," Kieran says.

Challenges

Sales naturally comes with peaks and troughs, and Kieran has learned to focus on consistency and bouncing back rather than dwelling on the quieter periods. "You're not always going to be at your best, and that's fine, what matters is how quickly you get back to it," he says. He credits Matthew Davidson for raising standards and accountability within the team without tipping into a blame culture, alongside genuine support from colleagues and leadership during harder personal or professional stretches.

Achievements

Kieran's proudest achievements go beyond any single deal. Five promotions in five years reflect consistent, sustained performance, recognised further by both SDR of the Year and BD of the Year honours along the way. Beyond the results themselves, Kieran has developed a genuine ability to spot where clients can benefit from more than one of B&B's services, helping increase the value he's able to deliver across R&D and energy engagements alike. "Staying five years and still growing says as much about Bonham & Brook as it does about me," he adds.

Culture

For Kieran, what sets B&B apart isn't just the results, but how the business goes about achieving them. B&B works with genuine depth of sector expertise, including specialists who've come from HMRC itself, and operates on a success-based model minimising risk on the client side. "People have a certain image of sales, but this job genuinely helps businesses," Kieran says. For him, that's what makes the work feel worthwhile rather than transactional; easing cost pressure for companies that need it most, helping them re-invest in innovation, and by extension helping the UK economy thrive. "We’re not in it for a single transaction; we’re building a relationship with our clients that last for years," he adds.

Looking Ahead and Personal Reflections

Looking ahead, Kieran is focused on identifying clients who can benefit from a fuller suite of B&B's services, working across the business's four service lines in a genuinely interconnected way to optimise outcomes for clients rather than treating each engagement in isolation. Outside of work, Kieran commutes into Manchester from Cheshire and keeps busy with the gym, football, tennis, and travel. A lifelong Liverpool fan, he's also been a WWE fan since childhood, and colleagues know him as one of the sources of energy and positivity in the office.

Her Journey at Bonham & Brook

Sahira interviewed for a Technical Consultant role in 2020, but during the process the opportunity evolved and she joined as an Account Manager. “It turned out to be a great starting point because it allowed me to develop both technical and client-facing skills early in my career here.”

At the time, the company was a small team of around 10 to 12 people. What stood out immediately was the strong sense of unity and collaboration. “It genuinely felt like one team working towards the same goal. I also appreciated how involved the Directors were in the day-to-day work. It created a very open and collaborative environment.”

This early experience gave Sahira a unique perspective on how a growing business operates. She was able to see the direct impact of her contributions and quickly learned the importance of adaptability in a fast-moving environment. As the company expanded, she embraced new responsibilities and opportunities, building a foundation that would support her future leadership roles.

Challenges, Achievements, and Culture

Over the years, Sahira progressed from Account Manager to Senior Account Manager, then Operations Manager, and now Senior Operations Manager. Each stage brought new responsibilities, from managing client relationships to overseeing teams and eventually leading the wider consultancy function. “My journey at Bonham & Brook has evolved significantly. Each stage of that journey has been a milestone because it has pushed me to develop new skills and broaden my perspective.”

One of the biggest challenges she faced was learning how to balance business needs with people management. Leading teams meant recognising that everyone is different and finding ways to support individuals while still meeting organisational goals. Developing this balance required resilience and adaptability, but it also became one of the most rewarding aspects of her role — seeing colleagues grow in confidence and progress in their careers.

Her achievements include not only delivering excellent client outcomes but also shaping the way teams collaborate and grow. Today, she supports multiple teams and ensures the delivery of high-quality services to clients. She has become a key figure in maintaining standards and driving efficiency across the consultancy function.

The collaborative culture at Bonham & Brook has been central to this growth. “Even with growth, there has always been a strong emphasis on employee development and maintaining that collaborative culture.” Sahira highlights how the company’s values have remained consistent despite expansion, ensuring that every employee feels connected to the vision and empowered to contribute meaningfully.

Reflecting on her journey, Sahira values the opportunities for growth that came with each role. The progression from client delivery to team leadership and strategic oversight has shaped her into a versatile leader who understands both the operational and human aspects of business success.
