His Journey at Bonham & Brook
Jack didn’t set out to build a career in sales. He was on track to become a teacher until a summer spent working in sales with a cousin changed his direction. From the very first interview, Jack’s people skills and relationship building stood out to founders Raed and Dom, qualities that have gone on to define his success at B&B ever since, and a sign of the kind of culture the company looks to build from the top down.
He joined as an SDR with more work ethic than natural sales instinct, and that work ethic is exactly what carried him. Early progress, he says, was a numbers game built on grit, and the skills followed with time and experience. From there he moved briefly into business development before finding his strength as a people first, loyal operator, which led to his promotion to SDR Manager, a role he’s held since. Today he manages a team of SDRs while continuing to operate as BD himself.
Jack puts his long tenure down to the investment leaders like Dom, Haran, and Raed made in him early on, along with the platform the role has given him to support his family. It’s a career built on results, loyalty, and the people around him, something he sees as core to what makes B&B different.
Challenges
The last four years haven’t been without their tough moments. Stepping into management meant learning a new skill set on the job, moving from hitting his own numbers to being responsible for a team’s results, and navigating the inevitable highs and lows that come with that shift. Building a genuinely respectful and inclusive team culture from scratch took real, ongoing effort too, rather than happening on its own. For Jack, working through those challenges alongside his team is part of what makes their eventual wins feel so earned.
Achievements
Jack has personally contributed multiple years of over £1 million in revenue across R&D and energy, and has been responsible for some of B&B’s largest client wins, including Weetabix. But ask him what he’s proudest of, and he points elsewhere. He lights up talking about watching his team members, Nicola, Carina, and Isabel, grow and develop into confident, high performing sales professionals, which he takes as the clearest sign of their success. For Jack, the wins that matter most are the ones his team earns.
Culture
As a manager, Jack sees himself as a coach and a leader rather than a boss. He’s built a team culture rooted in honesty and humility, one where mistakes are treated as part of learning rather than something to hide. His expectation is simple: effort and accountability earn his time and support in return.
He’s also proud of the role he’s played in making the sales team a more respectful and inclusive place to work. That same principle, treating everyone with equal respect regardless of role or seniority, is one he sees echoed across the wider business, and something colleagues who’ve joined from Big Four firms consistently point to as a difference at B&B.
Advice for New Starters
Jack’s advice for anyone joining B&B, in sales or otherwise, is straightforward: work hard, stay humble, and learn from people with more experience. His own path is proof of what determination and a willingness to learn on the job can achieve; from his first day as an SDR to leading his own team, he’s built his expertise through real results rather than relying on any one credential. What’s made the difference, he says, is a willingness to be a sponge, fail fast, and keep improving.
Looking Ahead and Personal Reflections
Outside of work, Jack plays cricket for the Bonham & Brook team, enjoys long dog walks with music, and follows global affairs closely, such as humanitarian crises that he’s passionate about raising awareness for. It’s a fitting balance for someone who spends his days investing in people, on the team he leads and in the causes he cares about.
