How Bonham & Brook can support your manufacturing business: Energy Intensive Industries Scheme
It is widely known that the UK has some of the highest electricity costs in the world. This is even more severe for industrial users of electricity, disproportionately impacting manufacturers of chemicals, plastics, metals, and adjacent sectors. While the government acknowledges this requires long term solutions, in the meantime, various schemes are in place to encourage domestic manufacturing. This includes the Energy Intensive Industries (EII) scheme, which offers a reduction of up to £90/MWh on electricity costs.
The EII scheme is a government support mechanism designed to reduce electricity costs for UK manufacturers operating in sectors vulnerable to high energy costs and international competition. In practice, it provides relief from certain policy costs included in electricity bills, as well as offering further compensation for network costs.
What is the benefit?
- Wholesale price
- Network costs
- Policy costs
- Contracts for Difference (CFD)
- Renewables Obligation (RO)
- Feed in Tariff (FIT)
- GB Capacity Market (CM)
- Network Charging Compensation Levy (NCC Levy)
- Balancing Services Use of System (BSUoS)
- Distribution Use of System (DUoS)
- Transmission Network Use of System (TNUoS)
Who is eligible?
