The Role

The Senior Technical Consultant provides expert technical guidance and support to our clients. The primary responsibility will be to assess and identify qualifying R&D projects, analyse technical documentation, and collaborate with clients to maximise their R&D tax incentives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth technical assessments to identify eligible R&D activities according to relevant tax regulations and guidelines.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on optimising R&D activities to maximise potential tax benefits.
• Prepare a technical narrative to substantiate the eligibility of R&D activities.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of services and meeting project deadlines.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior consultants, supporting their professional development and enhancing their technical expertise.
• Collaborate with other senior members of the organisation to establish best practices and drive continuous improvement within the firm.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by offering additional services or identifying new areas of potential R&D tax benefits.
• Stay up to date with any new legislation related to the R&D scheme.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking a technical professional who possesses:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in R&D tax consultancy.
• In-depth knowledge of R&D tax regulations, guidelines, and incentives
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and analyse complex scientific, technological, and engineering concepts.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences effectively.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor junior consultants.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
