The Role
As a Technical Consultant at Bonham and Brook, you will support the development and submission of R&D tax credit claims, interacting with a diverse range of clients. This role involves understanding and applying DSIT Guidelines and the Corporate Intangibles Research and Development Manual to assist in the claim preparation process. You will contribute to the firm’s efforts in delivering comprehensive R&D consultancy services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Consultant, you will be the brains behind the brawn, delivering claims for a broad range of clients based on your technical expertise. Your day-to-day will include:
Report Preparation: Assist in preparing detailed R&D technical reports, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
Client Interaction: Participate in meetings and technical discussions with various stakeholders, documenting eligible R&D activities effectively.
Technical Support: Help analyse clients’ R&D activities to determine their innovations and eligibility for tax incentives.
Process Assistance: Support the management of project timelines and the claim process to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Regulatory Support: Assist with compliance checks and enquiry responses under the guidance of senior staff.
Professional Development: Keep up to date with legislative changes in R&D tax incentives and apply this knowledge under supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
We are seeking a technical professional who possesses:
Degree Required: Possession of a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar.
Experience: 1+ years’ experience in the role of R&D Technical Consultant.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a range of stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Capable of conducting technical analysis with supervision where necessary.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team including upskilling junior or other team members.
Legislative Awareness: Basic understanding of government tax credit legislation with a commitment to further learning.
